In Vietnam, the construction of Long Thanh International Airport, an epoch-making infrastructure project, is in full swing and is surprisingly ahead of schedule. This is not only an important milestone in Vietnam's domestic transportation development, but also has a profound impact on its Asian neighbors, including Taiwan. The accelerated completion of this project not only demonstrates Vietnam’s efficient capabilities in large-scale infrastructure project management, but also heralds the upcoming changes in Asia’s air transport landscape.
The first phase of Longcheng International Airport includes the construction of a new runway and a state-of-the-art passenger terminal, which will make the airport an important aviation hub capable of handling 25 million passengers and 1.2 million tons of cargo annually. This feat was achieved through the unremitting efforts of Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) and its partners, who continued to advance the project progress even during holidays through a "three-shift, four-shift" working model.
For Taiwan, the opening of Longcheng Airport will further promote exchanges and cooperation between Taiwan and Vietnam. With the addition of routes, business travel and sightseeing travel will become more convenient, providing Taiwanese travelers with a new and vibrant destination. In addition, this also provides a door for Taiwanese companies to explore the Vietnamese market and find new business opportunities.
This achievement of Vietnam also provides Taiwan with opportunities to learn from it. In terms of infrastructure construction and large-scale project management, Taiwan can draw valuable inspiration from Vietnam's experience, especially on how to effectively advance project progress and ensure project quality while ensuring worker safety.
In the future, with the full operation of Longcheng International Airport, commercial and cultural exchanges between Taiwan and Vietnam are expected to reach new heights. Taiwan's airlines, tourism operators and business groups should pay close attention to this change and actively seek partners to jointly develop this emerging market. Today, with the rapid changes in the air transportation pattern in Asia, the completion of Longcheng Airport has undoubtedly opened up a new path for the aviation industry and economic development in the region, and has also brought unprecedented opportunities to Taiwan.
