The Vietnamese government recently adjusted the land use indicators of various provinces and cities before 2025

The Vietnamese government recently adjusted the land use indicators of various provinces and cities before 2025

The Vietnamese government recently adjusted the land use indicators of various provinces and cities before 2025, but emphasized that this adjustment will not change the established goals, spatial orientation, long-term planning or land use indicators, as well as those determined during the 2021-2030 planning period. projects and their vision to 2050.

On March 12, 2024, Vietnam’s Deputy Prime Minister Trần Hồng Hà signed Decision No. 227/QĐ-TTg to regulate land use indicators before 2025 based on the indicators allocated by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 326/QĐ-TTg. Adjustment.

According to the decision, for example, the land use indicators of Điện Biên Province by 2025 were adjusted to: 893,853 hectares of agricultural land; 31,662 hectares of non-agricultural land, including 458 hectares of safe land. Similar adjustments were made to land use indicators in the provinces of Lai Châu and Sơn La.

The indicators for this adjustment still follow the instructions of the Prime Minister in Decision No. 326/QĐ-TTg.

This decision makes it clear that the purpose of the adjustment is not to change the overall goals or established plans of each province or city, but to make more effective use of land resources and promote economic and social development while taking into account environmental protection and sustainable development.

People's committees at all levels are required to expedite the completion of land use plans for 2021-2025 to ensure consistency and unity with allocated land use indicators and land use plans and plans at all levels.

The decision also emphasizes the role of the Ministry of Environment and Resources, requiring the department to monitor land use changes, evaluate implementation results, and make adjustments when necessary to promote the effective use of land resources and economic and social development.

Deputy Prime Minister Trần Hồng Hà particularly emphasized that the adjustment of land use indicators aims to create conditions for areas with development potential and promote advanced development, paying special attention to those projects and projects that urgently need land for ongoing projects and projects. This adjustment will not change the overall land use indicators for each region by 2030.

As the Land Law (Amendment) takes effect in 2024, regions will need to work closely with the Ministry of Environment and Resources to review the land use needs of each project in order to propose a comprehensive land use demand solution for Congress to review and approve before the law takes effect. Make corresponding land use plan adjustments.
