Development Model:
Binh Duong New City is planned under the “industrial–service–urban” complex model. Becamex IDC has collaborated with the National University of Singapore (NUS) Design Institute to complete the detailed planning. Accordingly, the entire area is divided into multiple modern functional zones, including the new provincial administrative center, high-tech zones, financial and banking centers, commercial–office–hotel complexes, as well as university areas and international exhibition and fairgrounds.
The planning emphasizes the creation of a smart urban ecosystem, with synchronized technical and social infrastructure, a well-connected regional transportation network, and extensive green spaces. Currently, many key components have been completed and are already in operation, such as the new administrative center, hotels, convention centers, and high-end residential areas.
Planning Map:
The development plan of Binh Duong New City shows that the administrative center and central park are positioned as the core, surrounded by other functional areas such as garden-style urban zones (Tokyu Garden City), office–commercial–hotel complexes, and high-tech zones. Green belts and large regulating lakes (Central Park – central lake) run along the urban axis, creating a cool and pleasant living environment.
The main arterial and ring roads are responsible for connecting transportation between adjacent functional zones. The planning map also illustrates the locations of residential development land, commercial and service areas, and large green parks within the new urban area.
Smart City Factors:
Binh Duong New City is considered the core of the province’s innovation zone and smart city development. The Smart Operation Center has already been built and is actively hosting high-tech events and exhibitions. Notably, the World Trade Center (WTC) Binh Duong New City complex is set to become an international-scale hub for trade and technology promotion, featuring exhibition centers focused on AI, the digital economy, and the green economy, thereby fostering global investment connectivity.
According to the Intelligent Community Forum (ICF), visitors to the new city can clearly recognize a “modern, clean, and well-planned” urban area with synchronized infrastructure in both technical and social aspects.
Transportation:
In terms of transport infrastructure, Binh Duong New City benefits from major national routes such as National Highway 13, Binh Duong Boulevard, and the My Phuoc – Tan Van Expressway, enabling fast connections to Ho Chi Minh City and other areas within Binh Duong.
In particular, Becamex has planned the city following a Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) model. The WTC Gateway project, located near the Ben Thanh – Suoi Tien Metro Line (Line 1), will serve as a key interchange hub in the future metro network.
In the near future, residents of the new urban area will be able to travel to Ho Chi Minh City via metro lines or modern expressways, supported by a comprehensive bus network and internal ring roads that enhance regional connectivity. Additionally, planned green corridors, lakes, and public squares will support non-motorized transportation such as walking and cycling, complementing motorized transport.
The strategic location of Binh Duong New City enables quick connectivity to Ho Chi Minh City, Tan Son Nhat Airport, Long Thanh Airport, and key industrial zones through a network of expressways, metro lines, and international ports.
