The 7-hectare A1 roundabout is planned to host a metro station connecting to Suoi Tien, along with perspective renderings of the project.
According to Mr. Dung, this will be a multi-functional complex including cultural spaces, commercial and service areas, a multi-purpose sports arena, and a central station. The highlight of the project is a public square with a capacity of 4,000 to 10,000 people, along with an indoor arena for sports and performances accommodating up to 4,000 spectators.
According to the Binh Duong People’s Committee, the metro extension from Ho Chi Minh City to Binh Duong is currently being studied by Vietnamese and Japanese authorities. The planned terminal station will be connected to the station at the 7-hectare roundabout. The metro line from Suoi Tien to Binh Duong is approximately 30 km long, with a total estimated investment of over VND 51,700 billion.
Plans to connect the metro from Ho Chi Minh City to Binh Duong and Dong Nai are also being reviewed by relevant local authorities. Under the proposal, the final section of Metro Line 1 at Suoi Tien Bus Terminal (Ho Chi Minh City) will continue along National Highway 1, then turn left to connect to Binh Thang Station (S0 Station) before the Tan Van interchange in Binh Duong.
Alignment of Metro Line 1 and the two proposed extension directions to Dong Nai and Binh Duong.
From this area, the metro line will split into two branches. One branch will run to Binh Duong as an elevated line. From S0 Station, the route will pass through Binh Chuan interchange and continue to the Binh Duong Industrial – Urban – Service Complex (covering Ben Cat City, Tan Uyen City, and Thu Dau Mot City).
The other branch, approximately 18.3 km long, will also be elevated and extend to Dong Nai, passing through locations such as Vung Tau Intersection, Cho Sat, the Ho Nai 3 commune area, and Trang Bom.
According to the plan approved by the Prime Minister in 2021, the regional metro network will consist of eight lines, including: Trang Bom – Hoa Hung, Bien Hoa – Vung Tau, Di An – Loc Ninh, Ho Chi Minh City – Can Tho, Ho Chi Minh City – Nha Trang, Thu Thiem – Long Thanh, Ho Chi Minh City – Tay Ninh, as well as dedicated railway lines connecting to Hiep Phuoc Port.
