Around the globe, numerous listed companies have surpassed and are nearing the trillion-dollar market capitalization milestone... The information graphic below displays the top 5 largest companies on the Nasdaq, the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), and several international exchanges, based on data from Companiesmarketcap.com as of March 12, 2024.

The Largest Companies on Global Stock Exchanges Dominating the Nasdaq are technology companies, with the top 5 all being part of the United States' "Magnificent 7" – a group comprising 7 major tech giants. The total market capitalization of these companies is currently close to $12 trillion, which is nearly 25% of the total market capitalization of the entire US stock market in 2023 ($49 trillion).

Meanwhile, the largest companies on the NYSE are more diverse, including businesses from the technology, financial services, and healthcare sectors. Among these, the investment conglomerate Berkshire Hathaway, led by billionaire Warren Buffett, is the most likely candidate to become the next trillion-dollar company.

Notably, 90% of the company's shares are held by the Saudi government, with 8% owned by the country's national investment fund. Only the remaining 2% is held by public investors.

On the Euronext Paris Eurolist, the luxury goods conglomerate LVMH is the largest company, with a market capitalization of $469 billion. As the stock exchange for numerous European businesses, Euronext Paris Eurolist is headquartered in Paris, France, and has branches in Belgium, the Netherlands, Portugal, and the UK.

Samsung leads the Korean Stock Exchange with a market capitalization of $373 billion. Meanwhile, Tencent and Moutai are the largest companies on the Hong Kong and Shanghai stock exchanges, with market capitalizations of $349 billion and $305 billion, respectively.
