Viet Nam Government Passes Proposal to Amend Certain Provisions of the Land Law and Housing Law

On May 27, the Government issued a Resolution on the proposal to amend and supplement certain provisions of the Land Law, Housing Law, Real Estate Business Law, and Credit Institution Law.

On May 27, the Government issued Resolution No. 79/NQ-CP on the Proposal to amend and supplement certain provisions of the Land Law No. 31/2024/QH15, Housing Law No. 27/2023/QH15, Real Estate Business Law No. 29/2023/QH15, and Credit Institution Law No. 32/2024/QH15.

The Government unanimously approved the Proposal to amend and supplement certain provisions of the Land Law No. 31/2024/QH15, Housing Law No. 27/2023/QH15, Real Estate Business Law No. 29/2023/QH15, and Credit Institution Law No. 32/2024/QH15 as proposed by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment in Submission No. 58/TTr-BTNMT dated May 26, 2024, and related dossiers.

The Government assigned the Minister of Justice to, on behalf of the Prime Minister, sign the Government's Submission to the National Assembly Standing Committee for consideration, and submit to the National Assembly for inclusion in the 2024 Law and Ordinance Development Program. The Government requests the National Assembly to consider and decide on the construction and promulgation of the Law in a simplified procedure, and to give opinions and pass it at the 7th session of the 15th National Assembly (May 2024).

The Ministry of Justice will report back to the Government at the nearest Government meeting in accordance with Clause 4, Article 3 of the Government's Working Regulations.

On May 26, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha signed the Prime Minister’s Telegram No. 53/CĐ-TTg on accelerating the progress of developing and promulgating detailed regulations for the implementation of the Land Law, Housing Law, Real Estate Business Law, and Credit Institution Law.

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha requested the Chairpersons of the People's Councils and People's Committees of the provinces and centrally-run cities to focus on directing and speeding up the development and promulgation of detailed regulations for the implementation of these laws to establish a complete and synchronized legal corridor promptly, to be implemented immediately after the laws on Land, Housing, Real Estate Business, and Credit Institutions are approved by the National Assembly to come into effect early (expected from August 1, 2024).
