Many provinces in Vietnam are actively promoting social housing development plans to solve the problem of lagging behind in progress.

Post Date : Monday, April 29, 2024

Social housing projects in Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province, Vietnam, are progressing slowly, and the authorities are accelerating their promotion
Recently, the Ba Ria-Vung Tau provincial government is making every effort to review and promote the social housing development plan from 2023 to 2025 to solve the current backward progress problem. The provincial government plans to promote 17 housing projects during this phase, with a total area of 54.3 hectares and an estimated 12,798 housing units. These projects are mainly divided into three categories: 12 projects (9,451 units) for low-income families, 3 projects (3,034 units) for workers in industrial areas, and 20% supporting social housing in commercial residential projects2 projects (313 units).

Currently, the two projects that are lagging behind are mainly two projects in Vung Tau City: the social housing project in District 10 (4.7 hectares) and the project in District 12 (5.8 hectares). The construction department revealed that the reasons for the delay include slow local government approvals and the fact that some projects are not included in the provincial housing development plan.

In order to solve these problems, the Ba Ria-Vung Tau Provincial Government requires relevant departments to closely track the progress of the project. If bottlenecks are encountered, they should resolve them immediately or report them to the provincial government and provincial headquarters for intervention. The provincial government also emphasized that projects that are progressing smoothly should be accelerated with a view to completing them ahead of schedule; conversely, for projects that are temporarily unable to be promoted, investors should be recruited again.

In addition, in order to continue to promote the development of social housing, the construction department of Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province is also actively expanding and updating social housing projects, especially in areas with small populations and relatively easy land acquisition and compensation. This includes increased development efforts in Côn Đảo County and other areas where housing is urgently needed.

Looking forward to 2024, the provincial government plans to complete three social housing projects for low-income people, which will provide approximately 445 housing units with a construction area of approximately 45,660 square meters. In addition, 4 new projects will be launched, which are planned to provide 6,903 housing units, covering an area of 15.6 hectares, and the total construction area will reach 603,100 square meters.

These efforts demonstrate that the Ba Ria-Vung Tau provincial government is actively seeking to overcome current obstacles in the development of social housing in order to achieve the goal of providing adequate and affordable housing to low-income people and workers in industrial areas in the province.

Land use rights auction and social housing development plan in Quang Binh and Quang Ngai provinces
In Quang Binh Province, a public auction of 128 land use rights is planned for May in Quảng Trạch District, Ba Đồn Township and Đồng Hới Municipality. The starting price of these lands ranges from VND 5.6 million to nearly VND 6 billion, and the main purpose is residential land.

Quang Ngai Province is also actively promoting the development of social housing. In order to achieve housing development targets by 2030, the provincial government has approved a large-scale plan covering 330 hectares to attract investors to participate in the development of social housing projects. These lands are mainly distributed in Bình Sơn District, Mộ Đức District and Quang Ngai City, focusing on the development of housing for workers and students.

These initiatives show that governments across Vietnam are committed to solving housing problems, especially providing adequate housing support for low-income people and groups with specific needs. Through these plans and projects, we will not only improve the living conditions of local residents, but also help promote the further development of the regional economy.
